Life Legacy
In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mr. Clarence Smith, of Newnan, on Monday March 29, 2010 at the Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 3rd, @ 1p.m. in the Sellers-Smith R.W.S. Memorial Chapel with interment in the Eastview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8p.m. with viewing from 9a.m. to 9p.m.
Mr. Clarence William Smith was born March 3, 1927 in Coweta County, Georgia to the late Mr. Hozie Smith and Bessie Battle of Newnan. From this union were Mr. Garnett Hozie Smith (Cleveland, OH), Ms. Elizabeth Smith (Atlanta, GA), Mrs. Ida Lee Owens Barker (Newnan, GA), the late Mr. Horace (Dude) Smith (Atlanta, GA), and the late Mr. Robert Reese (Cleveland, OH).
Clarence was the father of three biological children.
Clarence honorably served in the United States Army in World War II as Private 1st Class and the Korea War as a Corporal.
He was preceded in death by his life partner Mrs. Sara E. Hutchinson. He was a devoted and caring person to her and her family which included Ms. Emma Daniel, Mr. Willie (Buddy) Hutchinson, Cathy Hutchinson, Stanley Hutchinson and a very devoted niece, Mrs. Davine Wade, as well as a very devoted Nephew Garnett Smith.
