Biography

In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Sarah J. Cheaves, age 73, of Newnan, Georgia on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Avalon Health and Rehab in Newnan, Georgia.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012, at 11:00 AM from Victory Bible Ministries in Sharpsburg, Georgia, Rod Blackmon, Pastor/Eulogist. Interment will in the St. John Baptist Church Cemetery.
Viewing will be on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM.

Sarah Jean Cheaves was born on December 14, 1938, unto the parental care of the late Mr. Jessie Thomas and the late Mrs. Winne Mae Thomas of Palmetto, Georgia. She was married to Frank H. Cheaves for 42 years preceding her death. She departed this life to be with her heavenly father early Tuesday morning, March 27, 2012.

She joined Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Church at an early age. She later joined Victory Bible Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Rodney C. Blackmon. She recieved her formal education in the Fulton County School System. She retired from the Bibb Manufacturing Company after 27 years of service.

Sarah J. Cheaves leaves to cherish her memory, four sons, Freddy Cheaves (Annette), Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Cheaves (Darlene), Mark Cheaves (Joann) and Kevin Cheaves (Beverly); two daughters, Bonita Cheaves and Santonio Melson; grandchildren, Kim, Marcus, Keanna,Tiffany, Derecious, Ecchverria, Rodrecius, Marquise, Deangelo, Chloe, Jay, Jasmine, Briana, A.J., April, Jay W, Jamarious and the late, Makayla Cheaves; great grandchildren, Khaliyah, LeAndra, Jadyn, Nijanna, Kenyah and Promyse; four step grandchildren, Cortney, Toma, Taryana, and Tyron; five brothers, the late Raymond Thomas, the late Issac Thomas, the late Morris Thomas, the late Bobby Thomas, and Freeman and Delano Thomas; three sisters, Lillie Pruitt, Margaret (Hezekiah) Arnold and Ethel Bonner; four special friends, Murray Carter, Charlie Jean Woods, Viola Howard and Jannie Mae Cook, and a host of other loving relative and friends.
