Biography
In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Ethel Bonner, age 71, of Palmetto, Georgia, on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Southern Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2012, 11:00 AM at Ramah Commuinty Church, Palmetto, Georgia, Reverend Darrell Bonner, Pastor/Eulogist. Interment will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery. The family receive freinds at the funeral home on Sunday, June 24, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Mother Ethel Bonner was born on December 10, 1940, to the late Jessie and Winnie Mae Sumlin Thomas. Early Thursday morning, June 21, 2012, Ethel Ruth Was called from labor to reward.
On February 22, 1958, Ethel Ruth married Willie P. Bonner. To this union three children were born; Norris, Olivia, and Darrell.
Ethel Ruth joined Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Church at an early age; she later joined Ramah (Baptist) Community Church. She was a faithful and God fearing mother who did not hesitate giving her testimony of what God had done for her. She would always greet you with her favorite scripture, Psalms 23 or leaver you with her favorite song, "He's An On Time God." If anyone tried to stop her from praising and worshiping God, she would get louder.
Ethel Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Willie P. Bonner; sister, Sarah Cheaves, and four brothers, Raymond, Isaac, Bobby, and Morris Thomas.
Ethel Ruth leaves to cherish her memory, three devoted and loving children; Norris (Tammy) Bonner, Olivia (Bobby) Strozier, and Darrell (Charlene) Bonner; four grandchildren, Tara (LaJuane) May, DeAndre, Joy, and Jaya Bonner; one great-grandchild, Damien May; two sisters, Lillie Pruitt and Margaret (Hezekiah) Arnold; two brothers, Freeman and Delano Thomas; five
sister-in-laws, Barbara Thomas (GA), Barbara Thomas (TX), Margaret Kirby, Emma Dixon, and Mae Fannie Almond; three brother-in-laws; Willie, Sanford, and Fred Bonner; two aunts, Dorothy Huggins and Sarah Abbott; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, staff and patrons of Newnan Health and Rehabilitation.
