Messi’ah Yanique White came into this world for a short visit to LaToya Ciera Brown and Tedrin Jammell White on January 18, 2010. She was granted her official angel wings on April 27, 2013. Her final hours were spent surrounded by her sisters and best friends just hanging out and having fun.
Messi'ah’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her smile could melt the hearts of those around her and voice, gentle, meek, and somewhat squeaky, was one that was always heard..
Messi’ah, affectionately called, “Si-Poo” and “Lil’ Sister,” loved music, dancing, posing for photos, eating her favorite cereals - Captain Crunch Berry or Fruity Pebbles, and being with her mother “ridin’.” There’s no doubt that she will be styling hair and brushing wings in heaven because she loved combing hair. Above all, Minnie Mouse was her favorite thing; she loved the color pink and anything that had anything, to do with Minnie Mouse.
Just as Minnie Mouse does in the Magic Kingdom, Messi’ah leaves her magic, the unforgettable imprint on the hearts of those she encountered throughout her short, yet very memorable life.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, MacKenzie White, Nekkiah White, and Erial McCrary; stepmother, Alonna McCrary; great grandparents, Doris Davis and Jessie Davis, and a great aunt, Melanie Jordan.
Messi’ah is survived by her loving parents, LaToya Brown and Tedrin White; one sister, Alexis Newsome; maternal grandparents, Vickie Geter and Chatt Brown; paternal grandparents, Vernita White and Shun Maynard and Mr. and Mrs. Linda (John) Brown; three aunts, Valerie Geter, Jessie White, and Tonya White; four uncles, Jamarcus White, Eric White, De’Angelo White, and Roger White; a very special God mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas (Saysha) Buchanon; cousins, Aisha Wilkins, Jeremiah George, Jordan George, Jamyia George, Shelynn George, Tylan Whatley, Jakiryah Walker, Shameka Gates, Demetrius, Gates, Jr., Destin Gates, BreAndra Bolton, and Benard Davis; great-aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Demetrius (Farah) Gates; great uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Berkley (Tolesha) Davis; great-great aunt, Mary Amey, Irene Elom, Betty Richardson, Patricia Russell, Carolyn Elaine Powell; great-great uncle, Mr. and Mrs. David (Sylvia) Grier; special aunties, Tamira Ware, Shantay Wilkens, Shantara King, Shante Neely, Shaketta Black and Bethany Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.
